WHAT WE MOVE
Not every move needs a full truck.
Here's what we're built for - the jobs the big guys overcharge for or flat-out refuse.
01
Studios & 1-Bedrooms
Our bread and butter. We know exactly how to handle these small moves, and our Sprinter vans are the perfect size. Most jobs completed within 2-4 hours.
02
Apartments & Condos
Loading docks, COI requests, elevator reservations - we walk you through the process from start to finish.
03
Student Dorm Moves & Short-Term Storage
We know the ins and outs of Denver campuses. Our Sprinter vans are the perfect size for a small dorm room move. Plus, we offer short-term storage (overnight, 1-2 weeks, or up to 3 months).
04
Small Moves Going Long Distances
Need to move across the country? We can handle that. With a dedicated small-load truck of just your items, nothing gets delayed or damaged while traveling cross-country.
05
Single Furniture, Specialized Items & White-Glove
Couch, bed, dresser, appliance, art - we'll move just what you need, with no minimum time or volume requirement. Flexible? Wait till we are in your area to save more with a batched truck.
06
POD & U-Haul Load/Unload
You rented the truck. We provide the muscle. Best for DIY long-distance moves. Going down the street? Let us handle the truck and the labor, with no price difference (we have to drive to get to you anyway!)
07
Junk Removal & Furniture Donation
Old furniture, appliances, move-out clean-outs, garage hauls; we load it and take it away. No dumpster rental, no lifting on your end, no headache.

SEASONAL MOVING SCHEDULE
When Denver gets busy — and how to get ahead of it.
Denver's moving calendar is more predictable than you'd think. Lease cycles, student move-ins, and seasonal demand create the same surges every year. Here's what to expect — and when to book.
June - August
The biggest stretch of the year. Leases across Denver turn over simultaneously — Capitol Hill, LoHi, RiNo, and Stapleton all peak at once. Downtown high-rises fill elevator reservation windows fast. Book 3–4 weeks out minimum during this window.
Summer Surge
Late July – Late August
CU Denver and metro-area universities push thousands of moves into Denver simultaneously. Shared houses, studio apartments, and dorm-adjacent buildings see back-to-back turnover. Loading dock slots and parking permits book out fast. Same-week availability disappears.
Student & Young Professional Influx
January
A quieter surge as new leases start January 1st. Not as intense as summer, but still busier than people expect — especially in Cherry Creek, Washington Park, and downtown. Good time to move if you want a crew with breathing room.
Post-Holiday Lease Starts
Sept - Nov; Feb-March
Our most flexible time of year. Same-week and even same-day slots are often available. Weather is ideal — crisp, dry, and no snow risk yet. If you have any flexibility in your timeline, fall is the sweet spot for pricing and availability.

Denver-Specific Moving Tips
Reserve loading docks early
Most Downtown Denver high-rises require 48–72 hr advance notice to reserve a freight elevator or loading dock window. We handle this — just give us a few days' heads up.
COI requests take time
Many managed buildings in Denver require a Certificate of Insurance from your movers before allowing access. We have COIs on file — contact us a few days before your move so we can submit.
Parking permits in tight neighborhoods
Capitol Hill, Baker, and LoHi have limited street loading access. Permit requirements vary by block. We know the drill — tell us your address and we'll flag anything that needs advance planning.
FAQ
Good questions.
Here are the answers.
Everything Denver customers ask us before booking - answered straight.
1.
Can you move just one room or a few items?
Yes — that's exactly what we specialize in. Small Haul Denver handles single-room moves, individual furniture pieces, studio apartments, and small 1-bedroom units across Denver, Boulder, and the Front Range.
2.
Are you licensed and insured in Colorado?
Yes, Small Haul is fully licensed with the state of Colorado and carries cargo insurance on every move. But insurance is for major incidents — total loss, vehicle accidents, catastrophic damage.
For the everyday reality of moving — a nick on a door frame, a small ding on a piece of furniture — we offer Personal Property Protection on every move. This is our crew's direct accountability: if we caused it, we document it and make it right. No claim process, no deductible, no waiting. You talk to your hauler directly.
These are two different things: insurance protects against the worst-case scenario. Personal Property Protection is our promise for everything in between.
3.
Do you know how to navigate high-rise buildings in Denver?
We do this regularly. We carry a Certificate of Insurance (COI) for building management requests, coordinate elevator reservations, handle freight access, and know the loading dock procedures for major Denver apartment buildings.
4.
How do you charge — hourly or flat rate?
Hourly, with transparent fees — no surprises.
Your quote breaks down into three parts:
Crew time — from the moment we start loading to the moment the last item is placed. Most Boulder studio and 1-bedroom moves take 2–4 hours.
Travel fee — a fixed charge for our crew's roundtrip from our Boulder hub to your location and back. Same rate regardless of traffic.
Fuel — charged on roundtrip mileage at a flat rate.
The low end of your quote is the minimum.
Most studio and 1-bedroom moves in Boulder come out to $315–$515 total, including travel and fuel.
5.
What areas of Denver do you cover?
All of Denver metro — Downtown, Capitol Hill, LoHi, RiNo, Cherry Creek, Washington Park, Baker, Stapleton, Aurora, Lakewood, and surrounding areas. We also serve Boulder County and the broader Front Range corridor.
6.
Do you offer packing and storage?
Yes. We offer full and partial packing services using professional-grade supplies. We also provide secure short-term storage for customers who need flexibility between move-out and move-in dates.
7.
Can you move my stuff today or tomorrow?
Often yes. We keep availability open for short-notice moves. Call us directly at (720) 704-2525 — if we have a crew available, we'll get you on the schedule. Same-week moves are common.
8.
How far in advance should I plan to book?
During peak season (May–September) we recommend 1–2 weeks ahead. Outside peak season, 3–5 days is usually plenty. Student move-in weekends near CU fill fastest — book those early.
